2024 Record: 3-14

Team Summary

The New York Football Giants have surpassed 6 wins only once since 2017. Don’t expect that to change this year. Brian Daboll has an uphill battle to save his job, which may actually be good for fantasy, as he’ll be more likely to lean into players that flash, and give his top options as much work as they can handle.

Bringing in veteran QB Russell Wilson may keep the offense more functional than it has been, but the fantasy options will still be pretty limited for most league settings. The top options are mostly playable, but the only must-start option is Malik Nabers.

We can expect a split backfield with a battle between second year standout Tyrone Tracy Jr. and rookie Cam Skattebo. Skattebo is the more talented player, but he is already dealing with an injury that cut his preseason short. Expect Tracy to control the backfield early, with Skattebo eventually taking over. This will likely settle into a committee with Skattebo earning the majority of the work, but Tracy mixing in to provide more explosiveness and a change of pace.

In terms of receiving, there isn’t anyone standing in the way of Malik Nabers. I don’t think anyone would be shocked if he received a 30% target share, given that the next best option is Wan’Dale Robinson. Russell Wilson should be an upgrade over the inconsistency of Daniel Jones, so the opportunity should be there for increased offensive production.

2024 Positional Market Share

Tyrone Tracy enjoyed a 2:1 carry advantage over Devin Singletary. However, that will likely change as the team drafted Cam Skattebo in the 4th round. The overall RB opportunities may increase, replacing Daniel Jones with an aging Russell Wilson, but not enough to offset the more even split of carries.

The mention of a 30% target share for Malik Nabers may have felt like hyperbole in the Team Summary, but as you can see, it was not. Nabers accrued a 30.7% target share (and missed 2 games).

Depth Chart:

  • RB: Tyrone Tracy, Cam Skattebo, Devin Singletary
  • WR: Malik Nabers (X), Wan’Dale Robinson (Z), Darius Slayton, Jaylin Hyatt

Russ isn’t the version of himself that caused the masses to call for Pete Carroll to “Let Russ cook!”. He is here to help stabilize the offense and feed the ball to Malik Nabers. He won’t run nearly as much as he used to, the offensive line may be a problem, and he doesn’t have as much playmaking ability as his younger self. He does, however, have good handle on how to run an offense and mostly avoid turnovers. Consider Russ a low ceiling QB2, but you need to understand that the bottom could fall out if Malik Nabers misses time.

Jaxson Dart (R)

Dart really isn’t fantasy relevant for 2025, but he is included as he may get some starts later in the year, and he does have some dynasty appeal. He is still a work in progress, but he was the best QB in the 2025 draft class when under pressure – and he’ll likely have to show that whenever he gets an opportunity. You can pick him up off waivers when he is slated to start, just in case there is more than meets the eye, but his history doesn’t portray a player who will be helpful for fantasy in his rookie year.

Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Tracy got his opportunity and made the most of it in 2024. The rookie averaged a respectable 4.37 YPC on what can only be described as a poor offense. He was more effective running zone (5.31 YPC) than man (3.28 YPC), but the offense does run more zone concept than man. He wasn’t able to wrest the receiving job completely from Devin Singletary, who still came in for some passing situations, but as a converted WR, there shouldn’t be concern about his receiving ability.

Cam Skattebo (R)

The 4th Round rookie out of Arizona State became a household name when he nearly carried the Sun Devils to an upset of Texas in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal. Skattebo is a strong, well-rounded RB that lacks top end speed, but makes up for it with tackle-breaking ability. Skattebo should post solid broken tackle numbers, as he frequently sheds arm tackles and will at times run over smaller defensive players. He also contributes to the passing game (he led Arizona State in receiving 4 times last year). He has a skillset where he could develop into a three-down back, but he would likely always be paired with a more explosive option to give the threat of big plays.

Malik Nabers

Nabers is a rising Superstar. Bursting onto the scene and earning 170 targets (109 receptions) in 15 games is quite the feat. Don’t forget that he did it as the only legitimate threat on offense for a 3-14 Giants squad. With an improved QB situation, he could even improve his efficiency and surpass the 1204 yards he gained in 2024. The only concern with Nabers is availability, as he has missed time in camp dealing with a lingering toe issue (it is reported that he has had this issue for years). It is concerning that something he has had for years is now causing him to miss time, but perhaps it is just the Giants being extra cautious with their only star offensive player.

Wan'Dale Robinson

New York Giants • WR • #17

Robinson is really only fantasy relevant by default. He earned 140 targets in 2024, but he posted an abysmal 4.99 YPT and a sub-par 7.52 YPC. If any other receiving threat emerges, it will immediately eat into Robinson’s targets as the team looks to be more productive via the pass. That said, there haven’t been any significant additions to the WR or TE rooms, so for now, Robinson may again get enough targets to produce.

Theo Johnson

New York Giants • TE • #84

Theo Johnson had a forgettable rookie year, as do most TEs. Despite a pretty barren receiving corps, Johnson only mustered 41 targets (29 receptions). That should take a step up in year two, but he’ll also want to improve his peripheral metrics. He only generated .12 TPRR and 1.0 YPRR, both of which leave plenty to be desired. Consider Johnson one of the many TD dependent TE2s – he has a safe role in an offense that will be forced to pass a lot, but he hasn’t shown the talent to deserve a large target share, yet.
