Coaching History: Last Three Years
Head Coach: Liam Coen (TB ’24, N/A ’23, LAR ’22)
Offensive Coordinator: Grand Udinski (MIN ’22-24)
2024 Record: 4-13
Team Summary
Off the disappointment of a 4-13 season, the Jacksonville Jaguars hired Liam Coen to help right the ship. Coen was the mastermind behind the Bucs’ 2024 offensive masterpiece, getting a career year out of Baker Mayfield and turning Bucky Irving from late round pick into NFL starter. The hope is that with the pieces in place in “Duuuval” that it won’t be too difficult to replicate the success this year.
Jacksonville is all of a sudden loaded on offense, with former #1 Overall Pick Trevor Lawrence at QB, Brian Thomas Jr. and Heisman Trophy Winner Travis Hunter at WR, and First Round RB Travis Etienne. Unfortunately, the previous accolades earned in college don’t mean anything in the NFL, and thus far, only Brian Thomas Jr. has lived up to his billing (to be fair, Travis Hunter has yet to have an opportunity).
Expect Coen to lean on his offensive stars, spreading the field with Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter forcing defenses to respect the passing game. If defenses play to stop the pass, they’ll get a heavy dose of Tank Bigsby on the ground and Travis Etienne is always a threat out of the backfield. Expect to see a lot of “11” personnel (Tampa Bay was 7th in dropback percentage out of “11” personnel last year). This should mean lighter fronts for the running game to go to work, while Coen and Lawrence wait for their opportunity to strike on play action.

2024 Positional Market Share

Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby form a solid 1-2 punch at RB. Bigsby is the between-the-tackles grinder, receiving most of the carries, while Etienne mixes in on the ground and takes most of the receiving work out of the backfield. If either should struggle or get injured, expect rookie Bhayshul Tuten to step in as a replacement.

2024 saw Brian Thomas Jr. dominate the receiving work for the Jaguars at 25.5%, with no other player receiving even 13% of targets. Expect to see Travis Hunter join Thomas with an above-20% target share, as Hunter consolidates targets that had been spread between backup WRs and absorbs some of the targets vacated by Evan Engram’s departure. Brenton Strange will also be involved frequently, as even in a TE2 role, he secured over 10% of team targets.

Player Breakdowns
Trevor Lawrence
Jacksonville Jaguars • QB • #16
Trevor Lawrence finally missed substantial time in 2024, after playing through injury in his first 3 seasons. Playing in only 10 games, Lawrence disappointed fantasy managers, although his 14.9 FPPG when he did play wasn’t particularly exciting either. However, he looks to reboot with Liam Coen, and capture the magic that turned Baker Mayfield into QB4 last year.
Tank Bigsby
Jacksonville Jaguars • RB • #4
Casual fans will think that Travis Etienne owns the backfield in Jacksonville due to his name-recognition. However, Bigsby played extremely well last year taking the lead rushing role. Expect that trend to continue, and don’t rule out the possibility that he could usurp more passing game work from Etienne should Travis struggle. His RB41 ADP is odd, considering he finished as RB36 in 2024 and should see at least as much work in an improved offense.
Travis Etienne Jr.
Jacksonville Jaguars • RB • #1
Even with Bigsby taking a majority of the carries, Etienne finished as RB35 despite missing 2 games. He starts the year as Jacksonville’s passing down back, having received at least 45 targets and completing at least 35 receptions in each of his first three seasons. However, don’t expect there to be much upside. Despite receiving 267 carries and 58 catches in 2023, Etienne finished with only 282.4 fantasy points. The RB3 finish looks nice on his resume, but the 16.6 FPPG would have only ranked 12th in 2024.
Bhayshul Tuten (R)
Jacksonville Jaguars • RB • #33
Tuten joins Jacksonville as an exciting rookie out of Virginia Tech. He has blazing speed, and the Jaguars will look to maximize his big play ability on limited touches. Tuten is a popular sleeper pick, as he had a decent prospect profile, and the Jaguars don’t have a stud RB ahead of him (although Bigsby and Etienne aren’t slouches). He’ll most likely need an injury to get a real opportunity this year, but given his explosiveness, once he is let loose, the Jaguars might not be able to keep him off the field.
Brian Thomas Jr.
Jacksonville Jaguars • WR • #7
Brian Thomas Jr. looks to follow up a stellar rookie season by showing even more improvement in Year 2. He’ll face increased target competition, but as a proven weapon, he should see closer to the almost 12 targets per game he received after the Week 12 Bye than his rate of 4 or less targets per game that occurred 5 times in the first 10 weeks. Thomas has real upside, as he finished as WR12 or better 6 times in 2024, and achieved the feat in 5 of 9 games where he received at least 8 targets.
Travis Hunter (R)
Jacksonville Jaguars • WR • #12
Travis Hunter is one of the most captivating rookies of the 2025 Draft Class. The two-way star from Colorado is expected to play both WR and CB for Jacksonville this year, as he has split time with both the offense and defense during training camp. Expectations are high for the Heisman Trophy winner, as he should come in and fill the slot role in 3WR sets for Liam Coen’s offense. For reference, Chris Godwin averaged 19.5 FPPG in that role last year through the first 7 games, until he was lost for the season due to injury. That output wouldn’t be bad for someone being drafted outside the Top 30 WRs.
Dyami Brown
Jacksonville Jaguars • WR • #5
Dyami Brown won’t have the same upside as Brian Thomas Jr. or Travis Hunter. However, he’ll be on the field plenty in 3WR sets. That should provide enough opportunities to be useful as a bye-week fill-in, and he could have more appeal if either of his teammates were to suffer an injury and miss time.
Brenton Strange
Jacksonville Jaguars • TE • #85
Brenton Strange is a great late round TE target. He was behind Evan Engram last year but stepped in with 4 Top 10 finishes across 7 games where he played at least 60% of the snaps. With Engram out of the way, expect Strange to continue to produce as a consistent member of the passing attack.
