Tetairoa McMillan at a Quick Glance
Just by looking at the general stats on McMillan, you can see that he was a very productive wide receiver and can be for whatever team selects him in this year’s draft. In 12 games, he was able to rack up over 1,300 receiving yards to pair with eight touchdowns.
McMillan is considered the top prospect coming out of college at the wide receiver position projected as high as being selected as the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s draft.
Last year, Marvin Harrison Jr was selected 4th overall by the Arizona Cardinals. He did not quite live up to the immediate expectations as he was drafted. Harrison Jr was produced by Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr, both selected later.
FantasyNow+ Deep Look
Look at the base numbers that matter all you want, but that doesn’t necessarily show you everything you need to consider when looking at a prospect. How was the prospect utilized in the offense? What did he do with the ball when he got it? These are all things to consider.
ADVANCED STAT | STAT LINE | POSITION FINISH |
---|---|---|
Targets | 130 | WR4 |
Average Depth of Target | 13.7 yards | T-WR342 |
Contested Catch Rate | 60.0% | T-WR218 |
Yards After Catch | 430 yards | T-WR28 |
Snaps Out Wide | 379 | WR24 |
Snaps In Slot | 105 | T-WR204 |
First Downs | 55 | T-WR5 |
Drops | 7 | T-WR17 |
Avoided Tackles | 29 | T-WR2 |
Interpreting the numbers only, McMillan was used primarily as an outside receiver on the Arizona offense for medium gains past the sticks. Once he got the ball, he has the ability to get additional yards after the catch.
This has the making to be a great asset on a fantasy roster in PPR format as he gets targeted a lot in the medium game and can create that separation for bonus yards down the field.
Fantasy Rookie Draft Projection: Early to Mid First-Round
