Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston, who was carted off early in the preseason after a frightening collision with Rams safety Tanner Ingle, is currently listed as being in concussion protocol. During the August 16 game, Johnston appeared motionless after a hard hit on a deep route, prompting immediate medical attention.
Despite the severity of the impact, coach Jim Harbaugh offered cautious optimism, noting that Johnston was able to speak, recall the play, and had movement, which he described as “a good thing” given the circumstances.
Johnston was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and has since entered the formal NFL concussion protocol as a precautionary measure.
