Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was not seen at practice on Friday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The second-year QB is dealing with a knee injury that has put his Week 3 availability in question.
Daniels has quickly grown into the centerpiece of Washington’s offense, making his absence a major storyline ahead of Sunday’s game. His mobility and playmaking ability have been key to the Commanders’ early offensive success, and losing him would be a significant setback.
If Daniels can’t go, veteran Marcus Mariota would likely step in as the starter. While Mariota brings experience, the offense would look very different without Daniels’ dual-threat presence under center.
Washington will release its official injury designations later today, but for now, Daniels’ status remains up in the air as the team prepares for Week 3.
