Injuries continue to plague Green Bay Packers running back MarShawn Lloyd, who left Saturday’s preseason game against the Colts with a hamstring injury. The setback could keep the 2024 second-round pick sidelined for the regular-season opener and possibly longer.
Lloyd, who was expected to back up Josh Jacobs, had just returned for his 2025 debut after missing time with a groin issue. He exited after a 33-yard reception in the second quarter. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Sunday that Lloyd will “miss some time.”
The young back has struggled to stay on the field since entering the league, missing most of his rookie year due to various injuries. Running backs coach Ben Sirmans called Lloyd’s string of setbacks “one of those unfortunate occurrences” but expressed confidence in his eventual recovery.
The Packers’ injury list grew further as rookie defensive lineman Barryn Sorrell suffered a knee injury that will sideline him for multiple weeks, while safety Omar Brown remains hospitalized in Indianapolis with a lung injury.
There was at least some positive news: quarterback Jordan Love, who had thumb surgery last week, could return to practice as early as Monday.
